My friends and I decided to take a trip down to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for our last undergraduate spring break back in April 2016. We spent our four days keeping distance from the typical college crowd and explored the city with Cabo Adventures.

Day 4 | Luxury Sailing
We spent our last full day in Cabo San Lucas sailing the Sea of Cortés. We were welcomed onboard with bottomless mimosas, shrimp skewers, and my favorite – chips & guac.

Day 3 | Swimming with Whale Sharks
This was #handsdown my favorite experience in open water. Born and raised on a tropical island, I’m naturally drawn to the ocean. It’s always been on my bucket list to dive with sharks, so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to swim with the largest known species. Words cannot describe the humbling experience being alongside these gentle giants.

Day 2 | Outdoor Adventures

As an adrenaline junkie, I was beyond excited to start my first full day of outdoor activities. After our introduction and safety briefing, we zipped across beautiful canyons – part of a UNESCO protected biosphere, rock climbed, balanced on suspended bridges, bungee jumped, and drove through the dusty desert in our very own ATV.

Day 1 | Getting Situated
Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa is located on what seems to be a private beach – an ideal location without the infamous spring breakers. It’s also a good alternative for families with children.

After a good night’s sleep in our Airbnb, my friend and I set off at the break of dawn in hopes to catch the sunrise. We started off with a scenic drive on Park Blvd, the main road in and out of Joshua Tree. Every square inch of the park is breathtaking so take your time exploring.

Back in 2016, my friend and I took a road trip to explore my very first National Park. Our first stop inside Joshua Tree was Arch Rock. We started at White Tank Campground and made our way through the geologic wonders just in time to catch the sunset. Pictures do no justice – it’s definitely a place you have to see for yourself.

Last fall, my friend and I took a trip to Joshua Tree, but before then stopped by Salvation Mountain. On our way out, we pulled up on the side and took advantage of this empty road.
