My friends and I decided to take a trip down to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for our last undergraduate spring break back in April 2016. We spent our four days keeping distance from the typical college crowd and explored the city with Cabo Adventures.
Day 1 | Getting Situated
Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa is located on what seems to be a private beach – an ideal location without the infamous spring breakers. It’s also a good alternative for families with children.
Once we unpacked our bags and settled in, we headed straight for the beach and pool, just in time for happy hour.
After a cool shower from hours of sunbathing, we headed off to our dinner reservation at Sunset Da Mona Lisa. It was the perfect luxury dining to kick off our first night. I’d definitely recommend a dinner outing around sunset at this cliffside spot – you can’t top quality food with a breathtaking view.
Meet my friends Jasmine, Genie, and Dina.
I ordered a salad and the Cappesante – seared scallops with sautéed spinach and oyster sour cream topped with truffle caviar, a delicious but light pick for me. I usually suffer from indigestion after a flight, so I played it relatively safe.
We were then kindly given a complimentary dessert platter with macarons, chocolate liquor, pastry balls, and some sort of gelatinous treat.
Before we turned in, we took a taxi to a nearby supermarket to grab snacks and brekkie bits since we had two full kitchens in our hotel room. Who would’ve thought I’d be buying groceries in Cabo?
